Kyte-Powel on Tempranillo
This lively young Tempranillo from north-eastern Spain is a modern style, light years from the dried out, dead Rioja reds that were once the regional standard. Liquorice, dark berry, leather and spice aromas are appetising and interesting, and it tastes savoury and juicy with good intensity, middling body and balanced dry tannins.
